Dove Season

Dove season opened Sept 1. That's a lot of fun. I took a few students out last Saturday on a hunt up to Kingsburg. We shot a few birds but we had a great time. It was great to hang out with some guys for a extended time and watch them interact with each other. It was really fun to see their excitement about doing something manly. We'll definitely have to do it again. There is nothing better than a cool morning, waking up before daylight out of a tent, dew on the grass and a shotgun in hand. The anticipation of the morning hunt is almost as much fun as the shoot. Then the birds start to fly. You wait and wait with much anticipation of the next group coming right over head. Then you get to make fun of each other as you miss shots. Wow, what a great sport.
