Chasing the Phantom
Friday, September 09, 2005
I have been getting worked by Philippians 2 lately. To do nothing out of selfishness or empty conceit but to always think of others as more important than myself. The more I think about my own life and these verses, the more daunting the task seems. This is anti human nature. This isn't normal. This is something that only the spirit of God can produce. God has been showing me just how deep the roots of this are in my own heart. So much of my time and energy is spent on pleasing myself. Yet the Word says that nothing should be done with that motive. Give us grace Lord!

Oh, I know. You're an Alabama fan and you can't get over yourself. All your doing is watching ESPN and eating Cheetos. I swear.
