Fellowship

I've been teaching through the book of Acts on Sunday Mornings. As I study these verses, I try to imagine what life would have been like. The Spirit comes down (2.1-13), the sign gifts are at work, Peter preaches a confrontational, non seeker friendly sermon, telling the Jews essentially, Jesus is dead and it's your fault and what happens?? 3000 people get saved. WOW. That's a day in ministry there. Then the continued power of the gospel and of the Spirit is continued to be seen throughout the book. One of the key fallouts of this is the fellowship that takes place among believers. From the familiar 2.42 verse through the end of the chapter, we see the continued devotion to one another, engaging in spiritual conversations and spiritual disciplines together. I love being with Christian people. I love talking about the Bible, about spiritual things, about God. I pray that the Lord would continue to impress upon us the importance of one another in the Christian life. No one is a Christian island. Find a Christian brother today and talk about God with them!!

Well said Allen. It continues to boggle my mind how we sometimes make Christianity something it is not. The simplicity of the early church is so attractive and there are so many facets we need to be emphasizing today.

I love spending time w/ other believers talking about each other's lives, strengths, weaknesses, theology, apologetics, Christ, etc. I hate how sometimes the frivolous yet necessary things of the world get in the way...That is all the more reason why I look forward to uninterrupted, perfect fellowship with Christ and His people in eternity.

Wow! That was almost like a Hallmark card. Seriously, that is the most feel-good thing to come out of a Cagle probably since God created Cagles. I am thoroughly impressed and am strangely drawn to converse about God with you.

Miss you man. Tell the other Cagle I hope everything comes out all right.

you know the only bad part of blogging? Anyone can participate.

Always good to hear from you Bishop. And Hallmark would never allow that much theology in a card. We should get together sometime and make fun of each other, or we could just make fun of Scott. I'll pass along your encouraging words.
